New in 2026, EU citizens need an electronic travel authorization (ETA) for travel to the United Kingdom. It’s simple to request and allows you to travel to the UK for up to 6 months over the span of two years. For citizens from other countries, please check with your embassy for accurate information on the visa requirements or any application procedures.
It takes only 10 minutes to apply and it costs £20 for the ETA. The form will ask for your contact details and a few simple questions about your background.
You can apply either via the UK ETA app (available for download on Google Play or the App store) or online on the UK Government website. You’ll need to have a picture of your passport, a photo of yourself, and either a credit card, debit card, Apple or Google Pay handy.
